Training Ride 02

News & Info, Tips & Training 3 Comments

Hello there, here is the training info for our glorious second group ride of the season!  It was nice to meet all of you this past weekend and place names with faces.  I look forward to riding with you all again.  Please reference the course map below.

Winter is being rather friendly to us, for they are forecasting a warm and sunny 45 degrees  tomorrow, which should make for beautiful riding weather!  We will be leaving from our normal Saturday meeting-place, the  Steamers Coffee Shop in the Five Parks Area in Arvada at 10 AM sharp!  Be sure to arrive plenty early to air your tires, put on those chamois and bibs, and whatever else you may need to conquer this lovely 30ish mile ride.  Be sure to bring adequate food and water and plan on the ride taking 2-2.5 hours.  For those of you that rode with us last week, the beginning of the course will look familiar, for we are adding some millage to last week’s ride.  For a majority of this season’s rides, we will using the first route as a base.  This will help you all familiarize yourselves with the course, learn to pace yourself adequately, and easily gauge your improvement as you progress.   We had a great turn-out last week and I look forward to seeing everyone there!

News & Info, Tips & Training 2 Comments

As director for Team YL Arvada, I (Steve Trujillo) would like to welcome you and announce that we are gearing-up and beginning our training  very soon!  I am excited to meet everyone and get-out on the bike.

We will have our first group training ride and a brief inaugural meeting on Saturday, January 30th at 9 AM. We will be leaving from Steamers Coffee Shop in the Five Parks Area in Arvada at 10 AM sharp.  We will be starting with nice 20 mile ride which should take approximately 1.5-2 hours.  This will be the the normal meeting/starting-place for rides every Saturday.  Additionally, I will be providing a course detail of each of the group training rides via mapmyride.com.  This will be a map and course profile interactive, right here in these posts (see below).  There will be a weekly blog post such as this, providing all the details for each week’s work-out which will be posted no later than the Wednesday prior.  We have an indoor facility, as an alternative, should we have some not so friendly weather.
